Chemical Peels for Pigmentation, Acne & Glow

Struggling with dark spots, uneven tone, or stubborn breakouts? Medical-grade chemical peels can gently lift away dull surface cells and target deeper concerns over time. At Thorold Medical Aesthetics & Skin Care, we use AlumierMD peels tailored to your skin type and goals.

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a controlled application of exfoliating ingredients (such as lactic, salicylic or glycolic acid) to the skin. The solution loosens the bonds between dead cells, helping them shed more quickly so fresher, smoother skin can appear.

What Can Peels Help With?

Chemical peels may improve:

  • Pigmentation, melasma and sun spots
  • Post-inflammatory marks after acne
  • Fine lines and rough texture
  • Congested pores and oily skin
  • Overall dullness and lack of glow

Different strengths and ingredient blends are chosen depending on whether your skin is sensitive, acne-prone, dry, oily or combination.

What to Expect

Before your peel

  • We’ll complete a consultation and skin assessment.
  • In some cases you’ll need to stop certain products (like retinoids) a few days beforehand.

During your peel

  • Skin is cleansed and prepped.
  • The peel is applied for a set time – you may feel warmth, tingling or mild stinging.
  • A neutraliser and soothing products are applied afterwards.

After your peel

  • Skin may look pink and feel tight, like a light sunburn.
  • Mild dryness or flaking can appear for a few days, depending on the peel strength.
  • We’ll give you simple homecare instructions and recommend SPF to protect your new skin.

How Many Peels Will I Need?

Many clients start with a series of 3–4 peels, spaced about 4 weeks apart for best results. Maintenance peels can then be done a few times a year, depending on your skin and lifestyle.

Why Choose Thorold Medical Aesthetics & Skin Care?

Our peels are performed in a medically supervised clinic using AlumierMD professional formulas. We never take a “one peel fits all” approach – your treatment is matched to your skin type, tone and comfort level, with clear aftercare so you know exactly what to expect.
