What to Expect at Thorold Medical Aesthetics & Skin Care
1. Consultation
We assess your skin, medical history and goals to make sure microneedling is right for you. We’ll also talk about how many sessions you may need.
2. On the day of treatment
A numbing cream is applied so you stay comfortable. The microneedling pen is then gently passed over the skin. Most people describe it as a light scratching or buzzing feeling.
3. Right after treatment
Your skin will look a bit pink, similar to a mild sunburn, and may feel warm or tight for a few hours.
4. Recovery
- Redness usually settles within 24–48 hours.
- Light flaking can happen for a few days as old skin cells shed.
- Makeup is usually fine again after 24 hours (we’ll guide you).
- Daily SPF is essential while your skin is healing.
Most people see smoother, fresher-looking skin after a few weeks, with further improvement over a series of treatments.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For general glow and texture, many clients start with 3 sessions, spaced about 4 weeks apart. For deeper acne scarring, we may suggest 4–6 sessions. Your exact plan will be tailored during your consultation.
